As this year’s host to the 11th Annual Patterson Scholarship Dinner and Auction, Damasco’s was a full house on Saturday, April 5, 2014.
The evening started with a beautifully decorated restaurant and a choice of tables to share with friends. There were delicious hors d’oeuvres and a no host bar to visit while our guests perused the silent auction items. As the evening progressed, the expected and friendly competition for the silent bid items became fun to watch… as the time elapsed for the silent auction, buyers would sneak in to check that they were the last name and price on the item wanted. All silent bid items ended with happy customers.
The dinner served at our table included stuffed chicken breast with sun dried tomato, spinach and artichoke, top sirloin marsala with mushrooms, roasted baby potatoes, a spring vegetable sauté, served along a classic wedge salad. Once dinner was finished, we were served pistachio chocolate brownie with salted caramel gelato.
The Oral Auctions was started soon after dinner. Every ticket holder was pre-mailed a catalog of items up for sale. There were large assortments of items from practical to indulgent. Each and every item was sold to the highest bidder.
PRIDE’s Board of Directors would like to extend our warmest thank you to all who attended and helped with this event. Our organization raised about $29,000 during the dinner auction. This money is added to scholarships given during the PRIDE Awards Ceremony on Tuesday, May 13, 2014 to graduates of Del Puerto High and Patterson High School.
Sincerely,
The PRIDE Scholarship Board
